Monthly Progress Report - May 2023


Starting Over. Again. Week One.

So for the past 2 months I have had absolutely no weight loss. In fact, I actually gained 15 pounds. I had been following the Noom program and I just had to admit to myself that it wasn’t working. Not enough guidance; I felt really confused about what I should be eating, and they gave me a super high calorie goal for every day (2650!!) I think that’s what caused me to gain so much weight. At any rate, Noom doesn’t work for me, and if it works for you, that’s awesome. I throw no shade on them, but the time has come to try something different!

Bring in Weight Watchers! I believe they’re the gold standard in the industry. They’ve been around forever, and they came highly recommended to me by more than one person I trust. I’ve been on the program for just 3 or 4 days now, and I love it. All the confusion I felt while doing Noom is gone. The plan is so easy to follow, and I’m already dropping pounds. (2.2 in less than a week!) I think this will be the way to go moving forward.

Am I annoyed that I went backwards and made no progress in nearly 3 months? I’d be a liar if I said that I wasn’t. But I’m trying to stay positive, and just consider it part of the learning process. I’m learning what works for my body and mind, and what doesn’t. I’m learning that failure isn’t the end, just the beginning of a new approach. And I’m excited about finding a program that seems to work!

I believe I said last month that I was going to update more often. Oops! No more empty promises. I will be making more progress so I will have more that I want to share about. Look for more posts in the near future!
